About Bryce

Bryce Berggren was born in Cleveland, Ohio, September of 1973. He traveled with his family as a boy, moving from Ohio to Olean, NY to Steliacoom, WA. Bryce credits these early childhood explorations for deeply influencing his artwork and life with a love of adventure and travel.

The family finally settled in Claremont, New Hampshire, a blue-collar industrial town in the Connecticut River Valley. The mountains and rivers around Claremont gave Bryce a love for the rugged landscapes of New England, and the strange characters who inhabit them. Bryce graduated from Steven's High School in 1992. From there, Bryce went to New York City where he attended Parson School of Design and graduated in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in Studio Art.

After graduation, Bryce traveled extensively in the American west seeking adventure and the great vistas of the Hudson River School and the Luminist painters. In this transitional period Bryce worked as a wood turner, snowmaker, letter carrier and painted in his spare time. He credits these work experiences as giving his artwork a competent level of craftsmanship and some great life experiences to draw from.

In 1999 Bryce married Jennifer Hart and the pair settled outside Burlington, Vermont. In 2006 they celebrated the birth of a son, Oskar Orion Berggren. In 2008 Bryce finally finished his Master Degree in Art from Johnson State College.  In 2009 Finn Berggren, Jenn and Bryce's second child was born.

He is currently puttering around in the studio and working in the garden.  His work is exhibited in households of distinction both near and far.
